A simple and thoughtful way to make sure someone checks in — and someone else is notified if they don’t.
Get Forget Me Knot on Google Play and start a gentle check-in routine in minutes. Simple, private, and non-intrusive.
Forget Me Knot is a safety and communication app designed for people who live alone or want peace of mind. It helps ensure that if a user does not respond to regular check-ins, a trusted guardian is automatically notified.
Why it’s called Forget Me Knot? The name plays on the phrase “forget me not.” But instead of "not," we use "knot" — inspired by a tied knot, like our icon.
A knot symbolizes connection, care, and commitment. It represents people being gently tied together — not to control, but to stay connected, to look out for one another, and to make sure no one is forgotten.
Forget Me Knot is about keeping human connections close, even when life gets quiet.
Daily reassurance that someone will notice if something goes wrong.
Peace of mind knowing you’ll be alerted if a loved one doesn’t check in.
Non-intrusive monitoring without cameras or tracking.
For those who love traveling alone, yet want family and friends to always know they’re safe—effortlessly. No texts or calls needed; a simple tap of "I AM OK" is all it takes.
After login for the first time, you can choose to be a guardian or someone being protected. If you want to look out for someone, pick ‘Guardian.’ If you want someone to check in on you, pick ‘I Need Protection.’ Each email can only have one role, so you can’t do both. To undo this process, you can delete your account and start over.
Choose a trusted person to be notified if you miss a check-in. If they are not yet in the app, ask them to register first. This ensures that both caregivers and those being cared for participate voluntarily, rather than being assigned without consent.
Your pre-written message will act as your final message to your guardian. Please enter any important information you want them to know, such as your current location, who to contact in case of an emergency, your full address, or any other sensitive details you wish to share.
Once your guardian approves your request, the app will remind you to confirm that you’re okay when the time is up. A timer will be displayed, and you can set reminders on an hourly basis (for urgent cases), or daily, weekly, or monthly.
The timer starts from the moment your guardian approves your request. In a future update, you will be able to set your own preferred time.
When the time is up, this alarm-style notification will appear to make sure you are safe and sound. Just one tap to confirm that you’re okay.
If you don’t respond, your guardian will be notified automatically. If everything is fine, your guardian will also be informed once you tap the ‘I AM OK’ button.
To delete the timer, simply remove your guardian, and the timer will be canceled. To remove your guardian, go to "Manage Guardian" in the left menu.
The Public Guardian section in the left menu lists guardians who have voluntarily offered to serve. These are random individuals. If you don’t have a guardian and trust a public guardian, you can request them. You can also can manually email them for verification, if needed, to ensure they are reliable.
